MORE MORE MORE PACINI - Having only discovered Pacini within the last few years, I was eager to buy this CD, and I was much impressed. Having bought the 4 CD s currently available (Medea is unavailable at present), and picked up on the various MP3 s available over the internet, I have been knocked over by his music. This CD contains some absolute gems. At £8.99 it is a bargain which you will not regret.To me the best is the trio from Cesare in Egitto, but I started liking the duet from Il contestabile di Chester at first. The cavatina from Temistocle is excellent too! Really I keep changing my likes from one moment to the next. It certainly makes buying Alessandro nelle Indie which is released Nov/Dec 2007 a must. I just wish more record labels would catch on to this neglected composer. I would just love to hear recordings of: Cesare in Egitto, Temistocle, Amazilia, Il contestabile di Chester, Il corsaro, La fidanzata corsa, Lorenzino de Medici, Bondelmonte, Allan Cameron, Il saltimbanco, Berta di Varnol.So record companies out there take notice - we want more Pacini. Enough of recordings of Tosca, Boheme, Traviata etc. There are some 80 opera s of a fantastic neglected composer.What can I say more - you need to buy this CD!
